2025: Year in Review

Updated: 7 days ago

This year, I continued my tradition of writing an annual “report” on my life — a space where I reflect on what happened, what I learned, and what I want to carry forward into the next year. As I write this, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion. My number one goal for 2025 was to prioritize both my mental and physical health — and while I only accomplished about half of that lol, I also experienced the most freedom and alignment I’ve ever felt. I’m excited for what 2026 has in store, because I truly put in the work to make it meaningful.

Without further ado, let's get into the deets!

Here are the top 10 highlights of my 2025:

1. I Quit My Stable Job to Pursue Entrepreneurship.

I walked away from a comfortable, well-paying job in public relations after a difficult management experience. Trusting my instincts and embracing uncertainty was terrifying, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Choosing Muller Media Group full-time has given me energy to focus on my goals, deepen time with my son, and work on projects I genuinely care about. I’m proud of myself for doing hard things with confidence and vision.

2. I Did the Big Chop and Went Blonde.

This one I chuckle at because last year, I relaxed my natural hair and even mentioned that my next step might have been a pixie cut. Yall, I was so tired of my hair. The relaxer was nice and manageable but I did not enjoy dealing with new growth and having to wait weeks for a touch up as to not damage my hair. One day, I just got up and cut off the relaxed ends with a plan to go natural again, and then on second thought, I figured I'd switch up the color. I love it, and it's likely staying for a while. I think this was symbolic of shedding old layers and stepping into a more liberating version of myself.

3. I Made it to the Cowboy Carter Tour 🤠.

I made it to Cowboy Carter. Still fresh postpartum from the Renaissance Tour in 2023, I told my partner I wouldn’t miss Act II. ,I took him with me and he turned into a Beyliever. I mean, the woman can perform! Sing, dance, and act. She is a triple threat fr.

4. I Attended My First AKA Conference.

I traveled to Anaheim, CA to attend the 34th annual International Regional Conference, and I had a good time. It opened my eyes to the strength of global sisterhood. It is truly a movement grounded in sisterhood and service. I served on the Global Spotlight Committee, formally reaffirmed my commitment to AKA, witnessed my mentor receive her Silver Star status for 20 years of service, and connected with my sisters across the region. Honorable mention: Singing the sorority hymn alongside hundreds of sisters was one of the most beautiful experiences of the year. I love my AKA fr. 🩷💚

5. I Sponsored My First event - TOAST

Supporting Kickin It and sponsoring tickets for Crucian creators was a heartwarming highlight.

I love that the organization preserves culture through digital means and community advocacy. What Kyra is building is absolutely amazing and necessary and I was honored to sponsor their second annual and hugely successful Toast gala. Kyra was also gracious to allow me to work with her and her PR team—Chambers Media Solutions and Tenille Clarke—to assist with local distribution of their press collateral. What an amazing opportunity. Cheers to many more Toast sponsorships and a blessed hand at giving back for Muller Media Group. Amen!

6. My Son Started "Big Boy School."

I can hardly believe that my little 6-pound baby is now walking, talking, and literally going to school?!?! Watching my Rayn walk into school with excitement—happily telling me “bye!” was such a bittersweet milestone. He loves learning, and I’m beyond proud of how he continues to grow.

7. My Great-Aunt Passed Away.

We lost my grandmother’s sister, Norma Mason. While her passing was sudden, we were grateful to celebrate her life together as a family. I'm grateful my grandmother was able to spend several months living with her this year before her return to the mainland. Over the years, I've learned so much from "Nana," as we'd affectionately call her. She was a firecracker and full of stories of "long time ago." I appreciated her telling of oral history because the older I get, the more I want to learn of our collective history. I'm also glad that I was able to coordinate a photo shoot of all their siblings earlier this year when they were all on the island.

8. I Was Accepted into the Incubator Program at RT Park

I wrote about this on my Substack. This experience has been transformative. Diving into tech learning pushed me to think bigger about my purpose, how I want to create, and how I can use my skills to build something lasting for my family and community. Growing Caribbean Connect and shaping it with intention has been one of my proudest journeys this year.

9. I joined the Makeup Bar Team

When my sorority sisters invited me to help launch a boutique makeup and skincare store on St. Croix — created for Caribbean-black women — I couldn’t resist. I’m so excited to support its growth and serve as Sales and Marketing Associate.

The soft launch is New Year's Day, so stop by at noon to check out the location and see what we have to offer. We'll have complimentary drinks and refreshments on site. Also, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

10. Another year down with my best friend (& partner).

I might always end with this because long-distance is no joke, especially with a toddler. But we make it work with intentional communication, consistent visits, and real partnership. Love takes work, but it’s so worth it. Here’s to surviving another year together and building our family 🥳❤️

In one word, I'd say 2025 was purposeful. I’m ending the year with growth, lessons, and renewed energy for what’s ahead. Thank you for following along with me and cheers to 2026! Happy New Year!✨
